Where does REACT work in Sierra Leone?

Sierra Leone is divided into 13 regions. And each region is divided into several tribal areas. REACT started in a small village called Masanga, in Tonkolilli district. REACT is still in the region of Tonkolilli, but now in the much larger city Magburaka. Unlike Masanga, you can drive all the way from the capital, Freetown to Magburaka on paved roads. The improved logistics and Magburakas size and large catchment area makes the city an ideal place to reach a large group of people.

Despite great success with projects in Masanga, REACT has come to the realization that a center located in a city with only approx. 2000 inhabitants has great limitations and with a desire to benefit a larger group of people React decided to change the location to the significantly larger city Magburaka, which is located about 15 km. from Masanga.

An additional reasons for changing the location is also REACT's desire for sustainability. It is the intention that the IT Centre in Magburaka eventually will generate enough money, to make the project financially independent from Denmark.
